’2011 Melon Music Awards’ reveal the 30 artists nominated for the ‘top 10′

The ‘2011 Melon Music Awards‘ has revealed its list of top 30 nominations.

On October 27th, the official website shared its list of candidates and opened its first round of online voting, which will take place until November 6th. Hosted by Loen Entertainment and MBC Plus Media, the top 30 artists were chosen through a formula of 40% streaming, 50% downloads, and 10%SK Telecom MOD use.

The first round of voting will advance the top ranking artists into the top 10, who will then be eligible for the ‘Melon Music Awards 10‘. The top 10 will be chosen by 80% Melon and MOD use and 20% online votes. Results for the top 10 will be posted on November 7th.

The awards ceremony will take place on November 24th. Check out the list of the top 30 below!

2NE1′s Sandara Park prays for Thailand

On October 29th, 2NE1‘s Sandara Park left an encouraging message for the people of Thailand, who are currently experiencing severe floods that have killed over 380 people so far. Bangkok residents saw their capital city getting submerged underwater from their main waterway, Chao Phraya River, thus marking one of the worst floods in Thailand’s history since 1942.

Because of this dangerous situation, organizers were forced to cancel 2NE1′s Nolza concert in Thailand, originally scheduled for October 29th.

Sandara posted a photo of her planner, which revealed she had concert rehearsals and interviews on the 28th, followed by the actual concert on the 29th. The idol wrote on her me2day, “Due to Bangkok’s flooding, today’s 2NE1 Nolza concert has been canceled.  It’s a total shame TT_TT.  I hope Thai BlackJacks, Yamaha staff members, and all Thai residents stay safe!  I wish for no more casualties… Let’s pray for Thailand!”

Netizens left a list of comments which read, “It’s a shame, maybe you can do the Nolza concert after the floods are over“, and “I’ll send my prayers too“.

miss A’s Suzy wants to be in ‘Dream High 2′

Considering the huge success of ‘Dream High‘, is it possible that the original cast will return for the drama’s sequel?

On October 29th, J.Y. Park tweeted, ““Starting to produce Dream High 2. 1st episode starts at Jan 30th on KBS. Let me know your suggestions for the show please~^^.”

In response to his tweet, miss A‘s Suzy replied, “Wow, Dream High 2! My suggestion? I’d be happy if Hyemi returns to the drama.” Suzy played the drama’s protagonist, ‘Hyemi’, alongside Kim Soo Hyun,2PM‘s Taecyeon and Wooyoung, IU, and T-ara‘s Eunjung.

After reading Suzy’s suggestion, netizens responded, “I’d really like it if Hyemi made a comeback!”, “Maybe she could return as a cameo? Future Hyemi?’”, and “I hope the songs and dances have more complexity in Dream High 2.”

So far, it’s known that ‘Dream High 2′ will feature appearances from J.Y. Park and Bae Yong Joon.

Jo Kwon talks about Ga-In’s kiss scene with Doojoon from ‘All My Love’

2AM‘s Jo Kwon has intrigued fans once again with new details on Brown Eyed Girl‘s Ga-In‘s kiss scene with B2ST‘s Yoon Doojoon.

Ga-in guested on the latest episode of KBS 2TV‘s ‘Secret‘, only to have the story of her kiss scene NGs with Doojoon from ’All My Love‘ revealed on television.

Jo Kwon came on as a surprise witness of the incident, and explained, “When we were filming the sitcom together, Ga-In acted without NG’s when she was acting with other female actresses; but for some reason, she always had a lot of NG’s when she was acting next to male actors. In particular, she had a ton of NG’s during her kiss scene with Yoon Doojoon.”

Ga-in, who seemed surprised by the subtle accusation, explained, “Because I am a woman, too, I get nervous when acting with male actors. I even got nervous when I was acting with Kim Kap Soo senior,”drawing laughter in the studio.

J.Y. Park announces ‘Dream High 2′ air date

There’s been a ton of buzz surrounding the new drama series, “Dream High 2“, as details regarding its cast and air date have been kept under wraps. On October 29th, fans received some concrete news from J.Y. Park himself, who announced the official air date of ‘Dream High 2′!

The multi-entertainer tweeted, “Starting to produce Dream High 2. 1st episode starts at Jan 30th on KBS. Let me know your suggestions for the show please~^^”

As we reported earlier, ‘Dream High 2′ will feature some brand new faces. The beloved cast from the original series may make a return, but currently, nothing has been set in stone yet. What is known, however, is that J.Y. Park and Bae Yong Joon will be making an appearance for sure.

F.T. Island’s Minhwan reveals that his ideal type is A Pink’s Bomi

Recently, F.T. Island‘s Minhwan guested on MBC Every1‘s ‘Weekly Idol‘ and revealed his ideal type to be A Pink‘s Bomi.

Minhwan’s secret was revealed by fellow member Hongki, who’s said that Minhwan’s taken to searching up a particular girl group member. He’s chosen her as his ideal type in the past, and even set her photo as his desktop background.

Minhwan was able to send a video message to Bomi, confidently stating, “Let’s get in contact once I get a phone and eat a meal together!”

The full episode will air at 2 PM KST on October 29th.

Kim Wan Sun releases MV for “Be Quiet” feat. B2ST’s Junhyung

Back in April, veteran singer Kim Wan Sun broke her six-year hiatus and made her comeback as the dancing queen she’s known to be. Six months later, she’s back once again with a new music video for “Be Quiet“, featuring B2ST‘s Junhyung.

The title track is the work of Shinsadong Tiger, rookie composer Kim Tae Joo, and Junhyung himself. The electronic dance track features a heart-thumping beat that pulsates throughout the track.

While Kim Wan Sun showed off a sexy transformation and choreography that amazed her audience, Junhyung also astounded with his dynamic rap near the end of the song.

2NE1 cancels ‘NOLZA in BANGKOK’ due to flooding in Thailand

2NE1‘s first concert in Thailand, ‘NOLZA in BANGKOK‘, has been canceled due to the severe flooding in the country.

2NE1 was originally scheduled to expand their activities in Asia with a concert in Thailand for October 29th. Unfortunately, the country’s been suffering from major damages caused by heavy rain and flooding, which began in July. 2NE1′s concert hall was recently declared to be in a critical situation.

YG Entertainment stated, “We recently canceled our concert in Thailand because of the flooding there. On the 29th, 2NE1 will be filming postponed endorsement photoshoots in addition to rehearsing for their YG Family concert in December. 2NE1 is disappointed, but they’re more concerned for their Thai fans. Recovering Thailand is the biggest priority at the moment.”

The YG Family concert will be held on December 3rd and 4th.

Sandara Park has left an exciting hint about 2NE1‘s upcoming Japanese MV for “Go Away” on her me2day!

On October 28th, Sandara Park posted, “Shooting the movie for Go Away~ Dadoong (Sandara’s cat) is showing interest in CL? “Go Away” video for Japan~ Point! Dadoong makes an appearance for 2 seconds with Dara.”

She continued, “There’s Dougie [dog] who passionately acted with in a couple hats with Minzy, personally painted pictures by CL, a sexy bathing scene of Bom, and more.”
