Nine Muses reveal concept photo of new member, Kyung Li

Yesterday, girl group Nine Muses revealed their comeback concept with their new member, Kyung Li. Following a group teaser, the girls have returned with an individual photo of their eigth member!

Posing with smudged make-up and messy, tousled hair, fans were surprised to see a member being introduced without a proper glammed up photo.

Representatives of Star Empire explained, “We felt that since she’s a rookie that not many people are familiar with, she’d be perfect to express the correct feel of the image we’re trying to convey. This is not just an image cut of Kyung Li, but rather a teaser that encompasses everything about Nine Muses’ comeback.”

21 year old Kyung Li has been a trainee for quite a while and is skilled in both vocals and dance. Nine Muses will be making their return on January 11th.

KARA makes a small mistake at NHK’s ‘Kohaku Uta Gassen’

On December 31st, girl group KARA performed at the 62nd annual ‘Kohaku Uta Gassen‘ for the very first time.

The Red & White Music Festival airs live every New Year’s Eve through NHK in Japan, and it is an event in which all the top J-pop stars gather to perform.

KARA was honored the opportunity of performing alongside Japan’s most elite and were being introduced by the MCs at the event, but members Nicole and Jiyoung made a small mistake before the interview.

The girls had no idea the cameras were already rolling, and they began doing a microphone test. The girls realized this a few moments later and could not hide their embarrassment. Nicole especially looked surprised at her own innocent mistake, but the girls were able to belt out their performance like professionals.

In related news, Girls’ Generation & TVXQ were also at the event representing artists from Korea.

Yoseob expresses his nervousness on duet performance with IU

On December 29th, B2ST‘s Yoseob had a wonderful duet performance with IU at the 2011 SBS Gayo Daejun.

On January 2nd, SBS E! K-Star News aired a special featuring some backstage footage from the Gayo Daejun and it seems Yoseob was quite nervous for the performance.

Before the performance, he had a short interview session with a reporter:

Yoseob: I’m singing a song with IU sunbaenim.
Reporter: What song is it?
Yoseob: “If you want a lover.”
Reporter: If you were really to have a girlfriend what would you do with her?
Yoseob: Go to the amusement park and have a surprising event as well.
Reporter: If you were to date IU?
Yoseob: I’m so nervous and shy, how can that happen? I can barely even sing with her.

After the performance, both IU and Yoseob were asked how the performance went. While IU seemed perfectly fine answering, “It was fun,” Yoseob on the other replied, “I was shaking… I really was shaking… Ah, I feel so shy.”

Sunye shows off her leadership skills

A lot of people know about Wonder Girls‘ leader Sunye and her long history of kind acts and volunteer work. A recent clip gave further proof of her kindness and had many netizens praising her leadership skills.

The clip was uploaded on January 2nd through YouTube. Before the Wonder Girls’ performance on SBS Gayo Daejun, member Sohee seemed a bit despaired having a faulty chair. Leader Sunye briefly looked around for a replacement but couldn’t find one so with some quick thinking she replaced her own good chair for the faulty one.

After watching the clip, netizens commented, “Watching this video makes me so proud of Sunye. The only problem is my heart. It is crying. Sunye, how many time did u sacrifice yourself for the members“, “This is Sunye, my Angel <3”, and more.

Lee Hyori doesn’t know what to do with her crocodile skin handbag

It’s well known that Lee Hyori is quite passionate in animal activism. In recent months, she took things a step further by renouncing leather but she recently has faced a dilemma of sorts.

The beautiful singer recently received a crocodile skin handbag as a present and it seems she doesn’t know what to do with it.

On January 2nd, Lee Hyori shared the above picture on twitter and tweeted, “A world famous designer sent this crocidile skin handbag as a gift, I really appreciate the gesture but what should I do with it? Um….”

Upon seeing the photo, a netizen stated that it actually looks like snake skin and Hyori replied, “Snake skin?”

A netizen suggested that she put the bag up for auction and donate the proceeds to an animal charity, like she had done previously.

T-ara, Davichi and Yangpa are coming to San Francisco!

Hey San Francisco! You guys are in for a treat, because T-ara, Davichi and Yangpa are heading your way!

A concert called “K-Pop Power & Beauty” will hit up San Francisco on January 13th, 2012 at the Bill Graham Civic Auditorium.

If T-ara are considered the leaders of dance music in K-Pop, then Davichi is their counterpart of luxurious ballads.  Member Minkyung has been promoting on various variety shows like ‘Immortal Song 2′ while Haeri has been getting her skills acknowledged through musicals and simultaneously raising the duo’s popularity to new heights.

At the concert, Davichi will be performing a variety of hit tracks from different genres like “8282“, “I Love You Even Though I Hate You“, and “Sad Promise“.

Yangpa, who recently gained popularity for singing the OST for ‘Deep-Rooted Tree‘, debuted in 1997 and has sold over 820,000 copies of her albums thus far. Although she’s a veteran of 14 years, her rich, powerful voice has remained unchanged over the years and she’s become the center of much attention with each new album release. Recently, she’s been working as a composer for Seo In Young and has been steadily expanding her musical career.

At the concert, Yangpa, will be singing “What’s Love“, “Knowing You“, and “Love of an Amateur“.

Rainbow unveils teaser image for new unit trio, ‘Rainbow Pixie’

Rainbow has announced that they’ll be starting unit promotions as a trio with ‘Rainbow Pixie‘!

On January 3rd, DSP Media updated their official homepage with teaser showing the silhouettes of three members. They also kicked off an event where fans can guess who the three members are for the 24 hours until the trio’s full reveal.

As Rainbow is known for their mature, sexy concepts, the trio will be playing to the group’s cuter side, just like the meaning of their name ‘Pixie’. Their title track, “Hoi Hoi“, is about a spell cast by elves and is described to have a friendly melody that will be easy for anyone to follow.

The event ends on January 4th, and fans can expect to see the members, jacket photos, and music video teasers until the album’s full release on January 12th.
